Two figures suspended in water — serene, almost celestial. Arms outstretched and eyes closed, they appear to drift in luminous stillness, while ripples across the surface break light and shadow into shifting bands.

The composition is both graphic and dreamlike: an almost perfect symmetry, softened by the perpetual movement of the water.

Michael Joseph possessed that rare ability to sculpt the human form through light alone. Here, the bodies become almost an architecture of tone: pale limbs suspended against darker currents, their contours defined not by line but by reflection. The interplay of skin, swimsuits and refracted light gives the figures an almost sculptural, marble-like quality — and yet the image remains fluid, sensual and alive.
