Created from one of Michael Joseph’s original negatives from his celebrated Pool Ladies series, this unique cyanotype transforms a 1980s swimming pool scene into an atmospheric study of light, water and movement.

Deep Prussian blues dissolve the swimmers into ripples and reflections, giving the image an almost dreamlike, painterly quality.

Hand-printed using the historic cyanotype process, variations in sunlight, chemistry and exposure make every print entirely unique.

The work brings together Michael Joseph’s photographic vision and Justine Joseph’s contemporary hand-printing, revisiting the family archive through one of photography’s oldest processes.

Presented in a distressed frame with subtle silver highlights, the artwork is ready to hang.
