Anecdote from an article about my dad in Pic Magazine (published June 1990) :

This was my first “orgy” – Tiddlywinks for Whitbread. Even their budgets had to be considered, so we advertised in the Evening Standard for the iob and over 500 people responded.  We chose 25 students, who each received £25 for the day. I  was  incredibly pleased with the result,  though it was never used by Whitbread, as is often the case with  experimental work, which is sad as  it’s generally more spontaneous and amusing than heavily researched ads. It gives the client an idea, then he goes off and does something totally different.
