A unique print on aluminium of the composition that Michael Joseph created in 1971 for the brand “White Horse” of the lady in the bath.
The campaign slogan was “now, you can take a white horse anywhere”. Here you can see the model relaxing with her whisky.
Anecdote from the shoot:
In the White Horse whisky ad, the red-haired model chosen for the bath was Pauline Stone, who married Laurence Harvey shortly thereafter. She was quite cooperative, given that the horse was breathing down her neck.
And even though we had a bucket handy, the horse managed to make a terrible mess on the carpet, which was frustrating because we could see it reflected in the mirror! On the bright side, we brought in a smoke machine to veil the mess, and in my view, it became the true magic of the shot. The ethereal haze not only covered the blemishes but also added a touch of mystery and allure, transforming the moment into something unforgettable.
We had to pay for a new carpet – one of the things about advertising photography is that you end up with all sorts of ridiculous bills!
