False start – six naked ladies, all poised, in position to dive into a swimming pool for a race, except one who left before the whistle!

The shoot was designed for an american Playboy television interview with Michael, and the photo-shoot was called “Pool ladies” – other poetic pictures from the series include “Swimming in opposite directions” and “Ready to dive” –  a few pictures of the ladies resting exist, which are less poetic but are all authentic darkroom prints and have their own beauty, having been designed and created by Michael Joseph himself.
