Inspired by historical frescoes and epic sword-and-sandals cinema, this photographic composition stages a frenzied crowd surrounding a triumphant Spartacus, lifted aloft by his fellow warriors. The unapologetic nudity of the bodies, combined with the tension of the gazes and the raw, martial energy of the poses, evokes both ancient brutality and a sense of contemporary liberation.

Created for the Jacques Weber Company as part of the Lyon International Festival, this theatrical image goes beyond a simple poster. It is a work of dramatic re-enactment, captured on film with a keen sense of the tableau vivant. Every face and every gesture contributes to the construction of a moment of collective uprising, in which the myth of Spartacus becomes an allegory of the desire for freedom and defiance.
