An original darkroom print by Michael, capturing the « Pirelli Scout » promenade when the avenues of majestic plane trees still stood tall—many of which have since been removed due to age-related illness. This image was taken during a preparatory photo-shoot, and it beautifully preserves a piece of that lost landscape.
Michael was particularly drawn to the almost psychedelic effect of the intertwining branches overhead, which create a sense of movement and wonder. I love this piece for the evocative imagery it conjures—it reminds me of Thelma & Louise, setting off for a bold, new adventure. You can almost hear the engine revving, the words “one, two, three—go!” echoing in your mind, as we zoom toward the horizon and the promise of freedom.
The print is titled and signed by Michael and comes mounted as shown in the photographs.
