A candid yet deliberately composed poolside moment, Chilling Between Takes captures swimmers in the charged lull between performance and plunge. Bodies gather along the platform’s edge — some seated, some crouched, some leaning forward — suspended between anticipation and release.
The cool monochrome palette heightens the interplay of light on wet skin, emphasising contour, texture, and tone. Reflections ripple across the water below, echoing the curves of legs and torsos above. The geometry of beams and diving blocks introduces a disciplined structure, while the relaxed, unguarded poses soften the composition with a quiet sensuality.
There is intimacy in the pause: a collective breath, a shared stillness before motion. Strength and vulnerability coexist in the way the figures occupy space — poised yet informal, sculptural yet spontaneous. The image transforms a fleeting interval into a study of rhythm, repetition, and tactile presence.
